Flowers are the closest representation of nature I always had by my side. They change throughout the seasons but stay in the same the place and don't tell me I can't photograph them. They're ultimately tied to an idea of femininity and taking a medium that's still very much male-dominated and making something in my terms, using a traditionally feminine theme, was also a consideration when I started photographing flowers the way I do.
